    Q-1: What make of motor is in the Tech-Roll?

    A-1: It is a Parker TE series motor.  It has Viton seals as standard, and is equipped with a backpressure shaft seal. It has needle bearings on the output shaft and is of the Geroller family of motors. 

    Q-2: What is the speed range?

    A-2: The Tech-Roll runs smooth and with almost constant torque between 5 rpm and
    200 rpm.

    Q-3: What happens if the motor starts leaking oil in the drum?

    A-3: The Tech-Roll has a breather/vent nipple on the fixed shaft.  It allows the roll er to vent air in and out through the breather instead of through the seal and bearing, and it will also telltale if an oil leak has occurred.   This nipple is supplied with a hose to prevent water from being sprayed into the breather and can also be lengthened to make sure oil would be diverted from  the belt and product.

    Q-4: Can you put any sprocket on the Tech-Roll?

    A-4: Yes, as long as the sprocket is of the solid type, i.e., not with spokes and thin center web.  The Tech-Roll has been used with products from Intralox, KVP, and Falcon.  Sprockets with a pitch diameter of as little as 6.5" can be used on the 4.5"        diameter roller.

    Q-5: Can the roller be crowned, lagged or knurled?

    A-5: Yes, all of the above.

    Q-6: How many horsepower is in the Tech-Roll?

    A-6: It is difficult to apply horsepower rating to a hydraulic motor because of its constant torque at all speeds.  In general, the Tech-Roll will have an equivalent rating from 0.2 hp to 5 hp in any size roller.

    Q-7: How much backpressure can the shaft-seal take?

    A-7: The motor in the Tech-Roll is designed to take full system pressure on the shaft-seal, i.e. in excess of 1500 psi.
