Temperature variables: For environmental temperatures below 40°F or above
125°F, consult your Van der Graaf representative.
Extreme dusty & abrasive conditions: The enclosed design of the Van der
Graaf Drum Motor does not allow penetration of dust and other abrasive material to
enter and damage the internal components such as motor, gears, bearings, etc...
Food processing: A complete stainless steel or combination of stainless steel
and plated drum motors filled with food grade oil has been certified by F.D.A./U.S.D.A.
for usage in food processing plants. (Refer to: External components)
High pressure wash down: For periodical equipment wash down our drum motor
can withstand up to 1,500 psi.
Frequent starts/stops: For operations requiring multiple starts/stops indexing
without coasting, the drum motor will require an electro magnetic brake or dynamic
breaking by DC injection via a frequency inverter. (Refer to: Indexing)
High power rated motors starting under load: A soft start electrical device
or a frequency inverter is recommended.
